Three options: overnight at your accommodation using the included mobile cable (slowest, often free if your host doesn't charge for power), Tesla Superchargers on long drives (fastest, paid via the Tesla app), or public networks like ChargeNet (paid via their app). Not at all. We walk you through everything at handover — the touchscreen, charging, Autopilot, regenerative braking. Most people are comfortable within 10 minutes. If you've driven any car with cruise control, you can drive this.
NZ$1,000 pre-authorisation hold on your card at pickup. It's not charged — it's just held. Released within 5–10 business days after you return the car, assuming no damage, fines, or outstanding charges.
The car, comprehensive insurance (NZ$2,500 standard excess), 250km/day mileage, all Tesla features (Autopilot, Premium Connectivity, Spotify), the mobile charging cable, and our charging guide. Public charging costs are paid by you on the day. Mileage over 250km/day is charged at NZ$0.80/km.
Yes. Two reduction options: Basic (+NZ$30/day, drops excess to NZ$1,500) or Premium (+NZ$52/day, drops excess to NZ$500 and covers windscreen, tyres, cosmetic wheel damage and lost keys). You choose at booking.
25+ with a valid full driver's licence. Australian licences are accepted as-is. Other overseas licences need to be in English, or accompanied by an International Driving Permit / certified translation.
Standard pickup is at our Christchurch base. Airport handover is available for NZ$150 — we meet you at arrivals and hand the car over personally. After-hours pickup can be arranged in advance.
Yes, and most people do. One-way drop-offs to Queenstown are NZ$1,000, or NZ$2,000 return relocation if you want to fly out from there. Cross-island to the North Island isn't offered — we keep the fleet in the South Island.
More than 5 days before pickup: full refund minus a NZ$70 admin fee. Within 5 days: no refund. No-shows: NZ$150 fee.
